Day 2, July 17: Dinner



The kitchen was filled with a delicious scent this evening, and the source was a perfectly seasoned ratatouille pie!  If anyone wants the recipe, let me know in the comments and I'll get Celine's mother to write it down!  
Ratatouille pie (yes, ratatouille, it's really a thing!), with ewe cheese and herbs de provence.  Delicious, and made with Leclerc garden vegetables! 


Although it seems to be unusual in the USA (correct me if I'm wrong), rose wine is almost as common as white (in the Leclerc house at least).  This was a very nice 2012 Alsacian rose

For dessert we tested a bottle of fermented mirabelle plums that had soaked in alcohol for three months.  Very strong, and three or four were enough for a "digestive".
