Day 20, August 11: Lunch

I think most people (at least Americans like me) see wine mainly as a matter of age.  "Wines gets better with age," right? Not necessarily.  It depends more on what you start with, how well it can age, and for how long.  Dominique won't hesitate to bring out a bottle like this for a quiet lunch because even though it's 16 years old, it's probably nothing special, rare, or expensive.  But it still impresses me!

This is a 16 year old bottle of Bordeaux.  It was rather disappointing, not very flavorful and flat.  Turns out that age is not a silver bullet!

Chicken, string beans, bread

Dessert (the fruit trees won't stop throwing fruit at us!
